Do you view "exercise" as a very specific type of movement? Do you enjoy or dislike "exercise"? I enjoy focused "exercise" as well as movement throughout my day. What I like about EXERCISE: Getting sweaty, practicing improving a specific movement pattern, getting my heart rate up, natural endorphins that typically follow, the general feeling of moving with clarity and focus. Some examples: Hiking, Pilates, Yoga, Weights, Kickboxing. What I like about MOVEMENT: I can do it anywhere/anytime, it's built into my day, it sometimes helps facilitate something else I need to do anyway, it's typically not sweaty. Some examples: Hanging the laundry out, walking to get a gallon of milk, walking Atticus to school and back, squatting/bending/crawling on all fours to play Legos.
